PSYLLIUM WHAT???

Now that you have the essential food items for your kitchen We can already plan our diet. We can start with the most important meal of the day - BREAKFAST. If you are the type of person who like skipping breakfast, sorry my diet will not work for you. I wouldn't elaborate more about why it is very important to start the day with a hearty, complex, energy loaded meal. (im saving space). I know, you know why.

BUt before that, let me share a SECRET. A tip that might really work for you. It might really help you loss weight.

30 minutes before breakfast, stir 5 grams (may be adjusted depending on your need) of psyllium husk in a half glass of water with some squezzed lemon for 30 seconds. and drink it immediately. I drink another glass of water soon after. and continues to drink 8-10 glasses of water all throughout the day.

Psyllium husk is a well-known fiber supplement and it is made from the plant Plantago ovata. It usually comes in powder or capsule form. Psyllium seeds swell 10-20 times their size when they come in contact with water. That's why you should drink plenty of water if you're taking a fiber supplement. This increase in size helps get your stomach moving.

It also as a sponge, sucking up toxins and helping the friendly bacteria in your stomach!

Some benefits include:

Helps against constipation
Acts as a lubricant
Lowers cholesterol
Cleanses the colon
Helps with blood pressure
Safe laxative
May help with weight loss
Treat stomach and intestinal ulcers
Good against heartburn

There are times when you should be careful and consult your doctor before trying this supplement.
For example if you...

Are pregnant
Are under 7 years old
Have diabetes
Have had stomach problems before
Have difficulty swallowing

5 grams of Psyllium fiber has 20 calories. It provides 16% of recommended fiber intake. After taking this, it is very easy for me to eliminate. I feel light and dont crave too much.
I guarantee that you will feel and see results. (literally see it in your toilet bowl).

That's all.

Btw, I am to share a very healthy delicious and powerful breakfast meal that wouldnt make you hunger for almost the whole day, but Im sleepy na... ill share it tomorrow. thanks!

add to cart

If you have accomplished the task on my previous blog, congratulations! It maybe not easy to let go of some things that used to be part of our daily life. Some of you may have read the ingredients of the packed food in your kitchen and was surprised to see that most of them was loaded with preservatives, MSG, Aspartame, and artificial flavorings and colorings. But don't worry its not too late for change.

As promised, I will give some pointers about what to consider during your trip to the grocery. This list will definitely help you on our goal to create the most appropriate and sustainable diet plan for you. For the first 2 weeks, our goal is to TRIM the belly fat first (sounds good?). Thats why starting right is very important. These are the must-have items that should be on your cart.

Chicken breast (de-boned, without skin)
Eggs(dozen)
Tuna/Salmon
(alternative (if your budget is really tight): Sardines, canned tuna, or any fish for that matter)
Cashew nut butter (alternative: Peanut butter (check the label ingriedents should only be peanuts, vegetable oil (preferably sunflower oil,Canola)may have some sugar and some salt... no more)
Toasted Cashew nuts (unsalted), Toasted almond nuts
Ground black pepper
Ground cayenne pepper
Sea salt
Cinnamon
Garlic
Onion
Turmeric
Brocolli
Green and Red Bell Pepper
Tomatoes
Moringa leaves (ano daw? Malunggay!)
Spinach
Ampalaya
Asparagus
Lemon
Green Tea
Milk
(Skim milk is preferred, I only drink Soy milk because im Lactose intolerant)

If you a have budget, i really encourage you to buy locally grown ORGANIC products. I understand that it maybe more expensive. But if you come to think of it, it is partially our fault that Organic products are more costly. Why? because there is a low demand. Because there is a low demand, they have to produce less with higher prices to get profit. Supporting Organic products will help our Organic farmers and eventually prices will go down.

And i just thought, it also the government's responsiblity to educate people and promote Organic. If im in the position, I will give tax exemptions to all organic farmers.

RAID THE KITCHEN

I think one important factor of losing weight in a "healthy way" is having a time and willingness to prepare your own food. we all know that fast-food offers nothing but saturated fat, dead carbs, sodium, preservatives and chemicals. Even food in the pantry cannot be trusted. And why do you think food in the vendo can last for months, even years without spoilage?

I know, preparing your own food is a task! But i am telling you, we cannot move forward you can't accept that the diet that i will introduce to you will take up some of your time, and effort. but this can be really rewarding. You are learning how to cook healthy meals for you and your family. and can be really relaxing to. i dont know, but i find cooking and going to the grocery a stress reliever. Also, just imagine, you burn the calories, even before you eat it! Amazing! and I sweat a lot when i cook. Its like a free work out.

Again, let me emphasize that my way of losing weight is not like eating nothing but 2cookies in every meal, or just drinking diet coke and cigarretes (they call it "hot chick diet" - not hot for me).

Your task now is RAID your kitchen. Segregate all the food items in to three.

DITCH.DONATE.LOCK.

DITCH. - food that can kill you (i dont even consider them food)

MSG. (includes all the food that has it and may also say nature identical flavors - i will discuss some other time why "nature identical flavors" includes in MSG category) ex. MAgic Sarap and all flavorings
Aspartame and all artificial sweetener (includes all the food that has it, some labels may say *PHENYLKETONURICS, PHENYLALANINE - ill discuss some other time the harmful effects of these) ex. Nescafe 3-in-1 or most 3-in-1 has it.
"lamang loob" and skin of animals
COKE (pepsi too, ok, all sodas)

DONATE - food that cannot help you lose weight but its sayang to throw away.

rice
white and brown sugar
white flour
table salt
oatmeal
bread (any bread)
pork
powdered juices

LOCK - food that we may eat BUT NOT RIGHT NOW, ill tell you when to bring this out from the locker. (may take two weeks)

brown rice
corn
slow cooking oats
fruit juices (pure)
pasta

the list is definitely not limited to those that i have written. but thats all that i can think of right now.

On my next blog. ill help you do your grocery. ill come up with a list of essential things that you must-have to start our journey to a healthy diet. Do your task now! RAID YOUR KITCHEN! Good luck!

yza's secrets revealed

a lot of people are asking "what did you do?"... good question! From being a fat kid to an almost over-weight 170-pounder sedentary slave to now , fabulously healthy with the happy-i-can-wear-anything attitude and energy that can summit mountains.

When people ask me about it I am happy not because I like their admiration but because they are interested and they are willing to change which I believe is very important. WILL. I gleefully share everythng that I know, but there are still a lot of things that they need to know to succeed and maintain the weight that they want. So a friend told me 'why dont you just blog it!" Good idea!

Thats why I created this blog to share everything that I know. It was not like, I wake-up one day and starve myself to death to get that zombielicious body like those models in the runway. I did my own research. And to set things straight, I am NOT a DOCTOR nor a License Dietician/nutrionist. But I had a very extensive research in wellness, diet, and nutrition. I read interviews from well-respected doctors and nutritionist.

Losing weight is like a quest. We can say it is not easy but may not really be difficult. Sometimes it makes you want to cry, or sometimes, laugh. My job is to guide you that quest and make the journey easier for you, more importantly to have FUN at the sametime. In this blog will generously share a step-by-step guide to a healthy living. (by healthy, its means losing weight is not only our goal but to keep a healthy way of living, free from toxic, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually)or atleast I will try to. You should be able to accomplish a sustainable plan for yourselves. and be really committed. My commitment is to blog REGULARLY.

Now my Questions to you:
How committed are you in changing your lifestyle?
Is this something that you want or reallyreally want?
What makes you want to change? is it because, its becoming a fad?
or does looking at the pages of the magazine with those hot models makes you feel inferior? is the thought of having the power of that great body makes you feel happy?
Or you want to change because you believe that taking care of you body and health is a way of thanking God for giving you the opportunity to be alive?
Or you love you family, your kids, your special someone so much that you want to live longer, healthier and happier?

You have a day, to give it a thought. Get back here and leave a comment if you have decided to continue. Thanks!
